If Glogster makes you want to stab a fork in your eye...

... you can use Microsoft word to make a visual representation of your future. You can also use www.picmonkey.com to make a visual representation of your future. In order to use picmonkey though you'll need to download a blank paint image first to upload as a blank jpeg. If this doesn't make sense to you, ask a computer geek and they will help you out!

Make Your Own Glog

When you have completed your ILP and have reached 100% completion status, you are going to make a glog representing your academic and career future. The glog should include any images, videos, or phrases representing your top school and top career. Have fun with this!

Remember, when I made my cool glog?

Mrs. McClellan's Legendary Glog

You are going to make one too representing your future. Go to www.glogster.com to create an account and get started. Be sure to use your school email address to create an account, so you can access your mail from here! When you are done, print the glog and turn in to Mrs. McClellan :)

idrivedigital

We’ve been in the library working on our Digital Driver’s License. We will be in there tomorrow (Friday) and Tuesday as well. Remember, if you don’t obtain your license by the end of class on Tuesday, September 4th, the assignment becomes HOMEWORK. This is a big grade in your Internet Safety Unit, so be sure to stay on task in the library.

Homework Goal

Don't forget to apply a homework goal this week. Here they are! Pick one to apply for this week :)

1.   Sit at a desk or table to complete your homework.  (Comfy couches and beds are OFF LIMITS!)
2.   Focus on your assignments without the distraction of the television or computer.
3.  Make it a goal to get your homework done during daylight hours (no 11pm start times).
4.  Open up your planner (that you have written in) and prioritize your tasks.  Think about how long each task will take and “chunk” your time. Check off the tasks when you complete them.
5.  Reward yourself AFTER you have completed a homework/study task…exercise self-control and discipline!
6. School nights are not “hang out” nights.  Focus on your responsibilities.  Weeknights are for school work.  Remember, jobs and extra-curricular activities are secondary.  School is your first priority.

T.G.I.F.

It's been a great week in Proficient Literacy, but I am sure everyone is anxious for the weekend. (I know I need a nap!) We took a quiz over the class rules and procedures today. I hope everyone did well! I look forward to reading and grading them this weekend. If you were absent today (Friday August, 17th), please let me know on Monday, so you can make-up the quiz. Also, make sure you have your supplies by TUESDAY! Have a great weekend. See you on Monday!
